Zamrah Ismail has been active in AFS since 2004. She was a host mother to seven (7) AFS students abroad, and is also a sending mother. She was a Chapter President many years ago and was an AFS Malaysia board member until 2016.
Zamrah has had more than 20 years of experience in International Banking, holding key senior positions in 10 of them. She headed the People Management Division managing up to 1500 staff, both directly & indirectly, including managing senior managers and expatriates under the Consumer Banking Unit. She successfully managed the setting up of effective customer-focused initiatives in all business units, with emphasis on organizational restructuring, system development & support, and process improvement.
Zamrah has also served at Malaysia AirAsia (MAA) in the Senior Management Team where she managed the People’s Dept at country level reporting directly to the CEO from 2010 till 2013. Zamrah Ismail has been appointed Antarabudaya Malaysia’s new National Director effective 15 February 2023. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and a Master’s of Science (Urban & Regional Planning) from University of Strathclyde, Scotland.
