Head of Operations; Volunteer, Alumni & Chapter Development
Violacea Low’s journey with AFS started as a young returnee from the prestigious Kennedy-Ludgar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program in 2013. Since her return, she has been a dedicated volunteer to give back to the organisation that changed her life! More fondly known as Vio, she was an alumni leader for the YES Alumni Malaysia Committee in 2014 to 2015. For over than 10 years, Vio has trained numerous volunteers, teachers and returnees in Intercultural Learning (ICL). She also designed & conducted the Liaison Person (LP) workshop training content for many years. As the Head of Operations, Vio transformed our AFS Malaysia website with user-friendly navigations for different stakeholders. Prior to joining AFS Malaysia’s office, Vio was a primary school teacher in Taylor’s International School Puchong and Dignity for Children Foundation. With her vast experience in the learning design & facilitation, her mentees have gone on to be successful teachers in various schools across Malaysia and abroad. Vio holds a Diploma & Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Primary Education) from Taylor’s University, Malaysia. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Education (Sociology) from University Malaya. You may also catch her in various performing arts spaces in Malaysia as a cast or crew member!
