International-mindedness has been in Kuhan Kandiah’s life for more than 18 years, starting with his undergraduate studies in Perth, Western Australia. Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Journalism, his career started as secondary school Mathematics teacher in a secondary school Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Later on, he relocated to London, England to work as a Customer Service Support Staff in a prestigious telecommunications company in the UK. Kuhan also served as a Management Executive for Malaysia’s leading multinational low-cost airline for 5 years.

In his current role as the Head of Programs, Kuhan oversees the outreach of AFS Malaysia’s virtual and exchange programs while also focused on delivering quality intercultural workshops to volunteers, families, participants, educators, and AFS Malaysia’s program partners.

He has worked in AFS Malaysia for 13 years across different roles such as a program executive (hosting, 18+), the Training and Intercultural Learning Lead & the (former) Chapter, Volunteer and Alumni Development Lead.

In his free time, Kuhan enjoys baking & watching cooking shows! You might also catch him plane spotting in Singapore, London and Amsterdam.
