Vimal currently operates as the Hosting Executive of our Programs Department. In his work, he manages the foreign exchange students coming into Malaysia for their exchange. His caring nature also makes him an excellent support staff for our host families all around Malaysia.
Vimal first heard of AFS through his Bahasa Malaysia teacher, Cikgu Zainuddin from his alma mater, SM Sains Batu Pahat. Through the encouragement of his teacher, he went on to apply and got selected for the prestigious British Petroleum (BP) Scholarship to the US. He was hosted in Houston, Texas for 6 months in 2015.
Prior to joining AFS Malaysia, Vimal worked in the CIMB Group Holdings Berhad as a Learning & Development Training Expert for regional staff. He was also a research assistant to the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) in Bangi, in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office, Malaysia.
Vimal possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science (Psychology) and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice in Universiti Malaya. A huge fan of the Detective Conan anime series, he hopes to pursue his PHD in Criminology to serve his country.
In his free time, Vimal enjoys watching stand up comedy & indulging in chocolate goodies.
