Antarabudaya Malaysia paid a courtesy call on Ministry of Education (MoE) officials recently to strengthen relationships and enhance cooperation after a two-year limited interaction due to the global pandemic.

The meeting was chaired by its Director of Schools, Encik Zainal Abas, and attended by representatives from Bahagian Pengurusan Sekolah Harian (BPSH), Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) and Bahagian Sukan, Kokurikulum dan Kesenian (BSKK). It turned out to be a reunion session of sorts at the meeting with familiar faces who have dealt with Antarabudaya Malaysia in the past including Encik Aznan Mad Natar of BSKK and two alumni from our Global Competence Certificate (GCC) program, Encik Afiq Athari from BPSH and Puan Norisah Mohd Top from BSKK.

Antarabudaya Malaysia was represented by its Adviser, Datin Yasmin Marican, Chairperson, Khalilah Talha, National Director, Atty Sulaiman, and department heads Jasmin Melan and Sophie Ismail.

The AFS history, mission, programmes and impacts were shared with the Ministry officials who gave their assurance they would support AFS’s ongoing presence in schools. The BSKK head also indicated his Division could work closely with Antarabudaya Malaysia on its plans to establish more Intercultural Clubs in primary and secondary schools as these clubs have the potential for building solid foundations for true unity through intercultural understanding .
