AFS volunteers joined a Rumah Bonda volunteering event to pack 1,200 care packages filled with daily essentials such as rice, oil, tea, coffee and face masks. These packages were to be sent to Sabah and Sarawak to aid communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

All SOPs were observed during the event, which was to wear face masks and disinfect hands regularly with hand sanitizers. Thanks to the amount of manpower that AFS brought in, the packing process went on smoothly and were completed by noon. Once all care packages had been labeled and boxes filled, the male volunteers helped in loading them onto trucks.

Due to the Movement Control Order, physical volunteering opportunities are rare for volunteers and many expressed their gratitude to be able to come down to the field and volunteer after a long absence. Many volunteers said that they managed to rediscover the satisfaction and fulfillment of volunteering once again. All volunteers were glad to have been given the chance to give back to the community during these difficult times and vouched that volunteering is truly the best for the heart and soul.
