Here is the overview of our different scholarships. We want to enable as many participants as possible to go abroad with our programmes and experience another culture first hand.


AFS Malaysia is committed to supporting you and your family to help make studying abroad a reality. This scholarship funding enables minority, need-based students the opportunity to have a study abroad experience.

The Yayasan ABM Scholarship is open to all 17 years old who wish to go on the Year Programme. Preference will be given to those applying for non-English speaking countries. Terms and conditions apply.

The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Programme was established by Congress in October, 2002 in response to the events of September 11, 2001. The programme is funded through the U.S. Department of State and sponsored by the Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs (ECA) to provide scholarships for high school students (17 years) from countries with significant Muslim populations to spend up to one academic year in the U.S.

This is a full scholarship offered to all students aged 17 years / Form 5 who wish to go to USA on the Semester Programme.

A partial scholarship will be offered to children's employee of Carl Zeiss. The scholars can choose between these destinations as host countries: Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, India, Mexico, Russia, Spain, USA.

From August 2014 to December 2015, AFS will celebrate 100 years since A. Piatt Andrew, the founder of the American Field Service, negotiated with the French Army during World War I to allow American volunteer ambulance drivers to rescue the wounded from the battlefields of France. This initiated a great humanitarian effort that has shaped many aspects of our organization today.

To commemorate 100 Years celebration, AFS Malaysia will offer high school students (17 years old) to participate in the AFS Global Changemakers Scholarship Programme. Scholarship is open to all students who wish to go on the Year Programme‚Äč to Argentina and India‚Äč. Terms and conditions apply.

The BP Global Citizens of Tomorrow scholarship programme provides financially-challenged students the opportunity to study abroad and gain the intercultural skills needed to succeed in a global economy. The goal of the program is to increase students' intercultural awareness and second-language skills.

The BP Scholarship is for a semester programme (6 months) to the United States of America from January - June. Scholarship is open to 17 years old.

Ministry of Education, culture, sports, science and technology - Japan in conjunction with AFS Intercultural Programs are offering an opportunity for Malaysian students to experience Japan as a part of the MEXT program.

This scholarship will cover for a 2 months (Intensive program) high school program to Japan departing in September 30 and returning November 1 2015.
