Menanti of Negeri Sembilan, to introduce AFS and explore educational collaboration received positive response from the prince.
Our Chairperson Khalilah Dato’ Mohd Talha led a small delegation from AFS Malaysia Negeri Sembilan Chapter which included Chapter President Khoo Eng Foo and two YES Abroad students, Tonery Rodgers and Elizabeth Taormina from New York and Washington State respectively.
The girls shared their exchange year experience and personal insights of the Malaysian secondary school education system with the prince who asked many probing questions and shared his own intercultural experiences while studying in Massachusetts, Cambridge and Wiltshire, England.
Tunku Ali is Chairman of Teach for Malaysia (TFM) Foundation and its representative Chan Soon Seng was also present at the meeting over tea at Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. His Highness suggested AFS and TFM follow up on possible future collaborations as he is passionate about the field of education.
