13/7/2008 - Yesterday may never come again, but we have today...
Datuk Noripah Kamso, Chief Executive of CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad, is hosting a reunion for her AFS daughter from Iceland and 2 AFS sons from Germany on the 15 July 2008. The reunion dinner will be held at her home in Tropicana Resort.
Datuk Noripah was inspired by the importance of foreign culture and language towards achieving a holistic human development for our growing teenage children, decided to host Soley from Iceland in 2003. Since then she has adopted another 2 sons from Germany.
All 3 AFS children will be getting together for a reunion on the 15th July at her home. Soley (Iceland), Sebastian and Eric (Germany) for the first time will be meeting at Datuk Noripah’s house. Their host mother Datuk Noripah have arranged this reunion in time for the organization’s 50th Anniversary celebration and thought it would be nice that all her 3 children will finally get to see each other.
Currently she is hosting Eric Shuett from Germany. Eric started living with her since July last year. Eric being the youngest of all is looking forward to meet his other AFS brother and sister. “I have heard many great stories about them and really looking forward to meet them.” said Eric. Eric is due to leave in July and is not looking forward to leaving Malaysia. Malaysia has become his second home. Like any other AFS students he has learned how to eat with his hand and come to love all kinds of Malaysian food. After living with his family for one year and going to a local school, he now understands the culture better and about Malaysia in general.
Datuk Noripah and family are looking forward to seeing all their children again and hope to attend AFS 50th Anniversary celebration together.
Despite her busy schedule, she still finds time to do her part in promoting intercultural understanding and peace. Datuk Noripah was recently awarded the CEO of the Year Award in 2007 by Asia Asset Management for the Asia Pacific Region. She has previously won Asia Asset Management’s Best of the Best Regional Marketing Personality of the Year, in both 2005 and 2006.
