AFS Italy

INTERCULTURA is a volunteer organization that works in the field of international and intercultural exchanges. There are more than 1000 INTERCULTURA volunteers throughout Italy and they are divided into local chapters which are located in nearly every province.

The local chapters do many things: publicize programs, student and host family selection, student and host family orientations, assistance and support for exchange students and host families, maintain and develop contacts with the schools and local authorities, and organize local and national seminars and meetings.

The volunteers are coordinated by a small body of professionals. There are two offices : Program Management, Administration and Accounts and Volunteer Development are situated in Colle Val d’Elsa (Tuscany), Class Exchanges, Marketing and Public Relations in Rome.
